 Turn To Dust

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

Genesis  2:7

  “I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

“My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.”

Psalms  22:14,15

  “And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;  

  Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;  

“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”

Genesis 3: 17-19

  “For death is come up into our windows, and is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from without, and the young men from the streets.  

  Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them.  

  Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:

Jeremiah  9:21-24

“To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.”

Ezekiel 31:14

“And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:”

Genesis 18:27

Jehu “Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;”

1 Kings 16:2

“Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?”

Job 10:9

  “He hath cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes.  

  I cry unto thee, and thou dost not hear me: I stand up, and thou regardest me not.  

  Thou art become cruel to me: with thy strong hand thou opposest thyself against me.  

  Thou liftest me up to the wind; thou causest me to ride upon it, and dissolvest my substance.  

  For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.

  Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”

Ecclesiastes 12:7

  Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
